Membership Fees



Y members may choose to pay membership dues monthly through automatic bank draft or credit card, or by annual or semi-annual invoice.  There is NO CONTRACT OBLIGATION to be a member of the Y.

JOINING FEE

There is a joining fee of $35 and as long as your membership stays active and current you will not pay this fee again.

MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION POLICY

Should you choose to end your Y membership, please fill out a termination form prior to the 20th of the month.  Failure to do so will result in membership charges for the next month.
 

A membership change form request must be submitted and signed in person.

Non-Members are also welcome to us the Y facility by purchasing a daily guest pass:

  • For the safety of all members and guests, ALL guests 18 and older must present a government issued photo ID each time they enter the facility.  During their first visit the member will be asked to sign a participant and guest form, that includes our waiver. 
  • All guest ages 9 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian during their first visit to the Y. The parent will be asked to complete a Guest & Participant Form and the child will be entered into our computer system.  This information will serve as identification for future visits to the Y.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO I HAVE TO BE A Y MEMBER TO USE THE FACILITY?

No. Yes, the YMCA sells memberships and requires that people who use the pools, gym, and fitness areas either are members, guests, class participants or have paid the appropriate guest fees. Guests who are under the age of 18 must have a Guest & Participant form completed by a parent before they will be allowed to use the YMCA. Guests 18 and older must present a photo ID and sign a guest waiver at each visit to gain access to the facility. Other parts of the facility such as the large lobby & lounge and youth room are open to the public.

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO BE AT THE Y ALONE?

Y members and guests need to be 9 years of age or older to be in the Y facility unsupervised by an adult. Guests ages 9 to 17 must be accompanied by an adult/guardian on their first visit to the facility.

Y members and guests 8 years of age or younger need to be supervised by someone 15 years of age or older while in the facility or utilize Child Watch.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR YOUTH AND ADULT PROGRAMS?

The Y offers many different programs for all age groups. See our program guide for current offerings.

Payment is due at time of registration to reserve a roster spot. Many programs have roster limits, please register early to ensure availability.

HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO USE THE WELLNESS CENTER?

Our Wellness Center equipment is designed for adult use. However, with proper training, children ages 9 and older are allowed to use the Wellness Center and Track once they attend a Family Fitness orientation with a parent/guardian.

Family Fitness is a free orientation designed to teach the proper use of equipment and explain behavior expectations for the Wellness Center.

DO I NEED TO SIGN UP FOR GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES?

No. Group Exercise classes are open and available to all members and guests at the times listed on our Group Exercise Schedule.

Special Events such as Launch Week events may require a FREE reservation in classes that use specific equipment.

INSURANCE INCENTIVE PROGRAMS

Work Out, Save Money* - What a great idea!

YMCA Members in eligible insurance plans with Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN, HealthPartners, Medica, Preferred One, United Healthcare, and UCare can receive $20 per month reimbursement by working out a minimum of 12 times per month.
 

Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Minnesota

If you’re an eligible Blue Cross member, you can get up to $20 per month reimbursement if you workout the minimum required amount of times in a month. Up to two eligible adult members (18+) per household can take advantage of the program. Eligible Blue Cross, Blue Shield of MN members have a Blueprint for Health fitness discount icon on their membership card. Bring your card to the Y Service Center to enroll. YMCA Family memberships may receive reimbursement for up to two adults participating in the program for a total reimbursement of $40 per month.

Health Partners

If you’re a HealthPartners member in a fully insured plan, check with Y Member Services to see if you are eligible to participate in the HealthPartners Frequent Fitness Program. YMCA Family Memberships may receive credit for up to two adults participating in the program for a total reimbursement of $40 per month.

Medica

The Fit Choices by Medica program is available to Y Members. If you are a Medica subscriber in an eligible plan, you can now receive a $20 reimbursement each month. All adults (18+) covered by an eligible Medica plan may enroll in the program.

Preferred One

The Preferred One program is available to Y Members. If you are a Preferred One subscriber in an eligible plan, you can now receive a $20 reimbursement each month. All adults (18+) covered by an eligible plan may enroll in the program.

UCare

The UCare program is available to Y Members. If you are an UCare subscriber in an eligible plan; you can now receive a $20 reimbursement each month. All adults (18+) covered by an eligible plan may enroll in the program.

United Healthcare

The United Healthcare program is available to Y Members. If you are an United Heathcare subscriber in an eligible plan; you can now receive a $20 reimbursement each month. All adults (18+) covered by an eligible plan may enroll in the program.

Silver & Fit

The Silver&Fit program is available to Marshall Area YMCA Members. Silver&Fit is designed specifically to help older adults achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. Silver&Fit provides eligible members with a no-cost or low cost fitness memberships through arrangements with certain health plans. Silver&Fit is provided by American Specialty Health Fitness, Inc., a subsidiary of American Specialty Health Incoprorated.
