YOU MAKE THE Y POSSIBLE

As a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the Marshall Area community, the Y relies on the support of neighbors like you to enable us to fulfill our commitments. From ensuring that kids have a safe place to go after school, to providing programs that improve mental and physical wellbeing and more, your contributions allow everyone to access the resources and support they need.

In honor of our 20th anniversary, explore 20 reasons why supporting the Y empowers individuals, strengthens families, and builds a better future for all.

1

The Y provides access to programs and services focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility to EVERYONE in our community.

2

No one is turned away from the Y because of financial difficulty. Financial assistance closes the gap for those who want to become members or participate in programs but are facing financial insecurity.

3

The Y teaches water safety and swimming skills to thousands of kids each year. In the Land of 10,000 Lakes, these life-saving skills are a critical offering in our community.

4

We believe health and fitness should be accessible. The Y offers 48 group exercise classes for all ages, levels, and interests. There's something for everybody, no matter your schedule.

5

Child Watch allows parents to pursue health and wellness while their kids play in a safe and fun environment supervised by experienced caregivers.

6

YMCA Youth Sports provides opportunities for kids to build skills, nurture all-around athleticism, and connect with positive role models. More than 300 kids participate each year.

7

A strong community means building strong families. The Y is a place where families can spend time together or pursue individual interests - all in the same facility.

8

The Y prioritizes senior wellness, creating opportunities for people 55 and older to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Specialty exercise programs and a variety of social activities are available.

9

The Y provides full-time and part-time employment opportunities in a wide variety of fields. We invest in our team so they can launch a career or develop skills that help them grow as an individual.

10

When school is out, the Y is a valuable resource to working parents. Through our School's Out Cammp and Summer Adventure Camp, kids explore personal interests, find new talents, and build independence - all with a focus on health and well-being.

11

The Y nurtures potential. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, and we offer a large variety of programming to put that belief into action.

12

The Y is invested in our community. We host the Farmer's Market, Healthy56258, and the youth entrepreneurial initiative, KindlMarkt. We're also proud to host birthday parties, local blood drives, legislative town halls, and serve as an election day voting site.

13

Annually, more than 7,000 community members become stronger in spirit, mind and body through a Y membership or participation in one of our programs, activities, or events.

14

The Y offers specialty programming for middle schoolers and teens, so they have a safe, rewarding and positive environment to come to after school.

15

The Y team is made up of people of all ages and from every walk of life working side by side to strengthen our community. We live our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

17

The Y knows getting started with health and wellness can often be the most difficult part. We offer regular fitness and wellness challenges to help people set attainable goals and kick-start their journey.

18

The Y brings people together across the community. Hundreds of people enjoy our 5K races, Bend & Brew events, tournaments, and sports leagues each year.

19

Research shows that physical exercise can improve mental health. We invest in maintaining a state-of-the-art fitness and aquatics center to create an environment people can enjoy.

As a leading nonprofit committed to helping people and communities learn, grow, and thrive, the Y is dedicated to inspiring positive change in the greater Marshall community and beyond.
