Earn Your Lifeguard Certification at the Marshall Area YMCA

April 24-26 and May 22-24, 2026

Successful completion of the course will provide participants with certification as a Red Cross lifeguard. The blended learning format combines approximately 7 hours of online learning followed by in-person skills sessions. 

Class will run Friday from 5:00-9:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am-6:00pm, & Sunday from 8:00am-4:00pm.  Must attend all sessions and complete pre-work.

Sunday, March 29th, 2026 from 8:00am-4:00pm

This course is designed to refresh your knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion, you will renew your certification for another two years.

Work for the YMCA and Save on Your Certification.

Be a lifeguard at the YMCA and save $175 on your certification course. To receive their reimbursement, upon completing the course, an individual who is hired at the Marshall Area YMCA must:

  • Work 5 shifts per month for the first 4 months of employment
  • Work at least one weekend shift per month in the first 4 months of employment.
