Earn Your Lifeguard Certification at the Marshall Area YMCA

May 22–24, 2026

Successful completion of the course will provide participants with certification as a Red Cross lifeguard. The blended learning format combines approximately 7 hours of online learning followed by in-person skills sessions. 

Class will run Friday from 5:00-9:00pm, Saturday from 8:00am-6:00pm, & Sunday from 8:00 am-4:00pm.  Must attend all sessions and complete pre-work.

Lifeguard Recertification

Saturday, May 16th, 2026 from 8am-4pm OR

Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 8am-4pm 

This one-day course is designed to refresh your knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion, you will renew your certification for another two years.  Must attend the full one-day session. No online pre-requisite. Additional info will be emailed a week prior to the course date. Certification valid for two years for CPR/AED, First Aid, and lifeguarding.

Work for the YMCA and Save on Your Certification.

Be a lifeguard at the YMCA and save $175 on your certification course. To receive their reimbursement, upon completing the course, an individual who is hired at the Marshall Area YMCA must:

  • Work 5 shifts per month for the first 4 months of employment
  • Work at least one weekend shift per month in the first 4 months of employment.
