POSITION SUMMARY
The Gymnastics Instructor will be responsible for planning and leading gymnastics classes for various age groups and skill levels, creating a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment that aligns with the YMCA's mission and values.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate gymnastics lessons and activities
- Teach fundamental gymnastics skills including tumbling, balance beam, vault, and bars
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Set up and maintain equipment properly before and after each class
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere that builds confidence and character
- Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback
- Assist with gymnastics program development and growth
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous gymnastics experience (competitive or instructional background preferred)
- Experience working with children and youth
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background check
- Passion for youth development and the YMCA mission
PREFERRED
- USA Gymnastics certification or willingness to obtain
- Prior teaching or coaching experience
Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours including afternoons/evenings and possibly weekends
