POSITION SUMMARY
Youth Sports Instructors will lead a variety of sports programs and activities for children of different ages and skill levels, helping to develop athletic skills, teamwork, and character in a positive and inclusive environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach fundamental skills across various sports (may include basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, and more)
- Plan and lead engaging practices, drills, and games appropriate for different age groups
Create a positive, encouraging atmosphere where all participants feel welcome - Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development
- Ensure participant safety and proper use of equipment
- Communicate with parents about program details and participant progress
- Set up and break down equipment for practices and games
- Support the overall mission and values of the YMCA
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience playing or coaching youth sports
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youth
- Strong communication and motivational skill
- Ability to be patient, positive, and encouraging
- Reliable and punctual
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass background check
PREFERRED
- Previous coaching or teaching experience
- Knowledge of multiple sports
- Experience working with diverse populations
Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours including afternoons, evenings, and weekends based on program needs
