POSITION SUMMARY

Youth Sports Instructors will lead a variety of sports programs and activities for children of different ages and skill levels, helping to develop athletic skills, teamwork, and character in a positive and inclusive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach fundamental skills across various sports (may include basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, and more)
  • Plan and lead engaging practices, drills, and games appropriate for different age groups
    Create a positive, encouraging atmosphere where all participants feel welcome
  • Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development
  • Ensure participant safety and proper use of equipment
  • Communicate with parents about program details and participant progress
  • Set up and break down equipment for practices and games
  • Support the overall mission and values of the YMCA

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience playing or coaching youth sports
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youth
  • Strong communication and motivational skill
  • Ability to be patient, positive, and encouraging
  • Reliable and punctual
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass background check

PREFERRED

  • Previous coaching or teaching experience
  • Knowledge of multiple sports
  • Experience working with diverse populations

Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours including afternoons, evenings, and weekends based on program needs
